On July 3, 2021, a tragic incident occurred at a restaurant in Upper Hill, Nairobi, where a farewell party was underway for a senior police officer.
DCI officer Anne Wanjiru Waiganjo, who was in attendance, suddenly collapsed at around 5 pm. She was rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to a police report, Waiganjo was the Officer in Charge of DCI Karen and had been attending the farewell party of SSP Henry M. Kiambata.
