On a sunny Sunday, the global WorldPride festival reached its climax with New York's annual Pride March, a vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusivity.
Published on July 1, 2019, the event drew thousands of people, including those who identified as LGBTQ+ and their supportive allies, to the streets of Manhattan.
Wade Anderson, 21, a first-time visitor to New York City, was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support: 'I've never seen so many people support the LGBTQ+ community in my life.'
The parade route was filled with music, colorful floats, and elaborate costumes, as the crowd clapped and cheered in celebration.
As each float passed by, they left behind a trail of glitter, confetti, and feathers, a testament to the joy and spirit of the event.
For some attendees, like Nitya Vink, 47, the Pride March was a memorable experience: 'We've been getting into the backs of cabs the past few days and seeing glitter in all the seams. 'How come there's so much glitter in this car?' we thought. 'Oh, that's Pride.'
