On July 2, 2021, Rwanda Development Board (RDB) announced a partnership with Tek Experts, a global provider of technical IT support services, to establish a technology support centre in Kigali.

The centre will provide technical support services to international customers of some of the world's largest tech brands, with Tek Experts planning to employ 1,000 technical support engineers at the new hub.

According to RDB, Rwanda will support the outsourcing firm to widen access to local technical jobs for existing talents that require additional skills gap training to meet world-class standards.

Ms. Claire Akamanzi, Chief Executive Officer of RDB, noted that the global outsourcing services and ICT-enabled services are key to Rwanda's economic transformation.

Steve Heffron, CEO of Tek Experts, stated that the partnership supports the company's objective and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of its employees and the community where it operates.

The partnership is expected to boost Rwanda's IT ecosystem by adding a new segment to its IT offerings, focusing on both deep technical skills and customer service experience.
