On July 2, 2021, a daring attempt to rob Prime Bank's OTC branch in downtown Nairobi was foiled by DCI detectives.

Five suspects, Charles Mulo, Fredrick Muderwa, Jesse Muriuki, Gabriel Mungai, and Reuben Njuka, were arrested after they attempted to break into the bank located at Angle House along Ukwala lane.

The suspects had booked themselves into guest rooms at the building, which shares a wall with the bank, and planned to drill their way in during the night.

However, detectives got wind of the plan and stormed into the building, forcing the suspects to take cover in the ceiling.

After bringing down the ceiling, the detectives recovered three hacksaws, a knotted twisted rope, a metal driller, five metal bars, a metal cutter scissors, and a suitcase.
