On July 2, 2021, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala announced that the Tourism Research Institute (TRI) is conducting a targeted survey to gather feedback from attendees of the 2021 Safari Rally.

The survey aims to assess the attendees' experiences and the economic impact of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally on Kenya's tourism sector.

According to reports, the event generated approximately Sh4 billion for the Kenyan economy over the weekend.

CS Balala encouraged attendees to participate in the survey by tweeting, 'Feel free to take part in the survey by @TRI_Kenya. The data will be useful in gauging visitor experience and the economic impact to the destination.'

Participants will be required to disclose details about their travel arrangements, including mode of transport used and accommodation, as well as how much money they spent during the event.

The survey also seeks to gauge levels of satisfaction with the event's planning and execution.

The feedback will help the government plan better for the 2022 WRC Safari Rally, which was announced as an annual event until 2026 by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Attendees can take the survey by scanning the QR code provided or logging on to tri.go.ke.
