On July 1, 2021, a meeting was held between Dandora Community members and Nairobi county government officials to discuss the delayed reopening of the Dandora Stadium.

County Secretary Jairus Musumba led the meeting, during which he pleaded with the community to give the county government one month to resolve the issue with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

Stadium Chairman Godfrey Okoti Seke stated that the county government would engage with the commission to understand its views on the investigations before proceeding with the contractor.

‘‘We had a very fruitful meeting and we have agreed to postpone the reopening by one month as advised by the county secretary but should they fail we shall have no option but to reopen it,’’ Seke said.

Community members, however, expressed frustration with the delay, with some questioning how the county government could disobey a presidential order.

Dandora 4 MCA Francis Otieno Ngesa called on residents to exercise patience, stating that leaders would not disappoint them and would push the government for the completion of the stadium.
