On July 1, 2021, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) revealed its scoring system for teachers seeking promotions and the available 10,000 vacancies.
Teachers who graduated before 2015 will receive a head start, earning 25 marks, while those who graduated later will get 20 marks.
Furthermore, teachers who pursued further studies and hold Masters degrees, or those who graduated with a First Class Honours, will be awarded higher scores.
Specifically, First Class degree or Masters holders will receive 40 points, while Second Class Honours Upper Division degree graduates will get 35 marks, and graduates with a pass will receive a maximum of 30 points.
Additionally, teachers who hold a diploma with a distinction will get up to 40 points, while those with a credit will receive a maximum of 35 points, and those with a pass will get a maximum of 30 points.
Teachers who participated in the TSC internship programme will receive an extra 30 points, making them favourites to secure jobs based on the TSC interview scores.
