On July 1, 2021, Wambui Kamiru posted a folded hands emoji on her Twitter handle, accompanied by no text. The emoji is a symbol of prayer, thanks, request, greeting, hope, praise, gratitude, reverence, and respect.

The post quickly attracted comments from her followers, many of whom paid their respects to the late Bob Collymore. Some of the comments came from Safaricom employees who had worked with him, sharing memories of his leadership.

Most followers simply posted heart emojis and folded hand emojis in solidarity with Kamiru. This gesture reflects the impact Collymore had on those who knew him.

Collymore's death anniversary was commemorated in 2020 by the 'Boys Club,' a group of friends who spent time with Wambui at her home in Kitisuru. The group included former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, former Scan group CEO Bharat Thakrar, KCB CEO Joshua Oigara, Radio Africa's Patrick Quarcoo, and journalist Jeff Koinange.

Wambui Kamiru has been keen on marking special days around her relationship with the former corporate leader. In a previous post, she celebrated an aspect of Collymore's character that she found endearing, saying, "Happy birthday Mr Collymore, I still laugh at your attempts to escape our selfies."
