On June 25th, 2021, celebrated media personality Nick Odhiambo welcomed his infant son, but their joy was short-lived.
Just three days later, on June 28th, 2021, the infant passed away, leaving Nick in a state of shock and grief.
Sharing the devastating news on Twitter, Nick wrote,
"What a short-lived joy! Born Friday 25th June-28th June 2021…been celebrating you and giving mom space to heal Then am told you were buried yesterday.. and just seen your new home! #RipSoN I have cried my eyes out asking why? Lil’Kyeon,"
accompanied by a photo of the infant next to the grave.
Just a week prior, Nick had taken to social media to announce the arrival of his newborn son, expressing his joy and elation at becoming a father.
"Best gift ever.. nice to meet you son! My mini me…. I am Soo overjoyed" he had posted, but those words now seem like a cruel irony.
Tragically, this is not the first time Nick has experienced the loss of a child. In 2019, he suffered a miscarriage, and the pain of that loss still lingers.
"The countdown to your birthday cut short…. Sometimes life just throws you a curve ball!!!..but it is what it is..lil’ J’lani R.I.P.. My son didn’t make it to see this beautiful world …" he had written in a poignant post.
As news of his son's passing spread, fans and well-wishers took to social media to offer their condolences and support to Nick during this difficult time.
"Pole sana for this terrible loss. My sincere condolences" wrote Sheila Mwanyigha, while Rodger T hat added, "So sorry bro. A parent must never burry their kids. It’s heartbreaking to say the least."
