Published on July 1, 2021, Rodgers Kipembe Mpuru's life is a far cry from the average Kenyan's. As the son of former Tigania East Member of Parliament Lawrence Aburi, Mpuru has been blessed with a life of luxury.
With a law degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), Mpuru has built a business empire, owning a salvage motor vehicle company with several garages and car wash centers across the city.
But what's perhaps most impressive is his collection of 18 luxury cars, including a Porsche, three Range Rovers, and six Mercedes-Benz models. Mpuru's love for cars is matched only by his ambition in politics, with a registered party, the National Ordinary People Empowerment Union (NOPEU), where he serves as Secretary-General.
Despite his lavish lifestyle, Mpuru remains humble, stating that all material possessions are ultimately vanity. He also owns a microfinance company with branches across Kenya and an upcoming TV station.
As the son of a current East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) member, Mpuru's family ties have not gone unnoticed. In 2022, reports indicated that he may venture into politics, further solidifying his position as a rising star in Kenyan society.
