Published on June 30, 2021, Telegram rolled out a significant update, introducing animated backgrounds, emojis, stickers, and more. This upgrade aimed to compete with WhatsApp, a long-standing rival, by offering similar features.
One of the standout features of this update is the ability to use animated chat backgrounds in Telegram. Unlike WhatsApp, which still lacks this feature, Telegram users can now enable animated backgrounds that change with each message.
To access this feature, follow these simple steps:
- Open the Telegram app on your phone and tap on the three horizontal lines on the left side.
- Navigate to Settings and then to Chat Settings.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to change the chat backdrop.
- Choose a backdrop and select Motion to make it animated.
With these steps, you can customize and use an animated Telegram chat background. Additionally, you can create your personalized chat background by selecting colors and themes or choosing a picture from your gallery.
Animated Emojis and Stickers ¶
Telegram's update also includes animated emojis as part of its new features. Sending animated emojis is straightforward – simply send a message with a single emoji.
- Visit the Telegram sticker bot's menu and select the Create sticker option.
- Upload your png image file to create a custom sticker.
