On the outskirts of Naivasha, where the WRC rally was in full swing, a different kind of mission was underway. Antonio, a celebrated Behaviour Change Ambassador, was on a quest to provide safe sex awareness to the masses. With a network of volunteers and a goal of distributing 10 million condoms across the country, Antonio saw the rally as the perfect opportunity to reach remote populations and promote morality in society.
As the rally caught fire across Kedong, Hells Gate, and the Elementaita plains, Antonio was busy distributing condoms to revelers from their cars to their hotel rooms and across erected tents. His mission was clear: to provide a safe and healthy environment for all, even in the midst of wild celebrations.
“I have been on a mission to provide 10 million condoms across the Country through a network of volunteers and my mates. We intend to reach remote places and hard to reach populations. We also are in the race to 1,000 condom dispensers across the Country; and the Naivasha event provided the perfect opportunity for us to further fulfil our mission”
With events like the Safari Rally and the now-banned Masaku Sevens often featuring moral depravity, Antonio saw the Naivasha rally as a chance to strike while the iron was hot and promote safe sex awareness.
