June 30, 2021, marked a turning point for Standard Group, a media house once synonymous with excellence, but now struggling to stay afloat.

According to insiders, the company's mismanagement, led by CEO Orlando Lyomu, has led to a brain drain, with salespeople resigning en masse to join rival media houses.

One salesperson, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that they had not received their salary for two months, yet were being pressured to meet sales targets.

'I have not received my salary for two months, but we are being pressured to bring in sales,' they said.

Standard Group's woes are compounded by its ill-fated investment of over Sh80 million in the Euro Cup finals, which has yet to yield any returns.

The company's struggles have taken a toll on its employees, with many feeling like they are walking on thin ice.

'We are being pressured much to deliver but the market is constrained and I personally feel like I've reached the end of the road,' said another salesperson.
