On June 30, 2021, US rapper Busta Rhymes made headlines when he referred to Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz as the African Michael Jackson in a video shared on his Instagram page.

The video, which was recorded in a studio with other stars, including renowned record producer Swizz Beatz, featured Rhymes and Diamond Platinumz hanging out and exchanging words of admiration.

“Lemmie zoom in on a motherfin’ Michael Jackson Africa Don Diamond Platinumz… Please be clear danger for real,” Says Busta Rhymes in part of his address.

Diamond Platinumz responded enthusiastically, saying “Danger am telling you”.

The comparison was made in the aftermath of Diamond Platinumz's recent loss at the BET Awards to Nigerian singer Burna Boy at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Despite the loss, Diamond Platinumz is gearing up for a highly anticipated collaboration with Busta Rhymes, which promises to be a great piece of music.

Swizz Beatz, who is married to R&B singer Alicia Keys, is one of the leading US beat makers with a midas touch when it comes to music production.

The Tanzanian star Diamond Platinumz met the American stars at the recently concluded BET Award ceremony, where Swizz Beatz led Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Griselda, and others in paying tribute to DMX.

With the new work in the offing, fans will be treated to some great music when it finally drops, as Busta Rhymes has a unique rapping style which will be blended with Diamond’s smooth Swahili.

It remains to be seen if Diamond Platinumz might do an all-English version to cover the world audience.
