Published on June 30, 2021, Raj Sehmi has been married to Pinky for the past 14 years. He describes her as headstrong, grounded, and an amazing mother.

They met through her brother, and Raj was initially drawn to her good looks. However, as he got to know her, he saw the similarity in values they shared, including her open-mindedness.

On their first date at Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi, Raj recalls it was a simple but lovely night with great conversations.

When Raj had to leave for the UK for further studies, Pinky joined him and enrolled in a media course. They courted for a while before getting married in January 2007.

Raj shares that Pinky is the same in public as she is in person, not tolerating nonsense from her children or himself. He also reveals that her sense of humour is a new side to the public.

The couple has different weather preferences, with Raj loving cold weather but Pinky hating it.

Tragically, Pinky experienced four miscarriages, including one in 2008, a blighted ovum in 2009, and two more in 2011 and 2015.

After four miscarriages, Pinky finally gave birth to their daughter Ariyana Raj Sehmi in 2010, followed by their son Arian Didar Sehmi in 2015.

Raj believes that men should be allowed to experience loss without judgment and tough love, as there are no outlets or safe spaces for them to mourn a child.
