On June 29, 2021, Keroche Industries unveiled X Beer, a sugar-free beer aimed at high-end consumers, at the company's Naivasha plant.
The beer's alcoholic content is 8.8 per cent, and it will retail at Ksh250 per bottle, joining Keroche's existing range of beers, including Summit Lager and Malt.
Top distributors and retailers attended the launch ceremony, which marked a significant step towards Keroche's goal of capturing at least 20 per cent of the market share.
With over 30 brands under its belt, Keroche has been introducing new products to edge out imports, which have dominated various segments in recent months.
Speaking at the ceremony, Keroche CEO Tabitha Karanja noted that the quality of brand X and its richness is unmatched in the present market, making it targeted at the middle and upper-end market.
She added that for years, Kenyans have relied on imported strong beer, and as local manufacturers, Keroche has chosen to fill this gap and give Kenyans a beer of great taste that makes for an easy enjoyable drinking experience.
Foreign beer brands with strong alcohol content levels, such as Denmark's Faxe and Belgium's Atlas, have captured a significant segment of the Kenyan market with their beers whose ABV ranges from 10% to 16%.
