On Monday morning, police officers based at Langata Police Station made a significant breakthrough in the ongoing jogger robberies along Lang'ata and Mbagathi roads in Nairobi. Two middle-aged male suspects were arrested while preparing to commit a felony in the Lang'ata area.

According to the DCI, the suspects were caught off guard when police officers noticed something suspicious about their appearance. The officers turned back and ordered them to stop, but the suspects defied the orders and took to their heels.

However, the suspects were no match for the lanky, young crime busters based at Langata Police Station, who are renowned for their speed and proficiency in chasing after thugs. The officers caught up with the suspects a few metres past the Mbagathi bridge.

One of the suspects, 24-year-old Peter Omweno Momanyi, was found to be dressed as a woman. He was discovered with a knife and a chain carefully concealed on his waist, which were his tools of trade. Police also recovered a machete from his accomplice, 25-year-old John Muchiri Kimani.

Investigations by the DCI revealed that the two suspects were among those who waylay fitness enthusiasts who jog along Langata and Mbagathi roads, early in the morning and late in the evening. Members of the public who lost valuables to the suspects are urged to report to Lang'ata Police Station.
