Sharing video files or YouTube videos in Zoom meetings is a straightforward process that can be accomplished in three ways. Whether you're on a PC or phone, you can easily share videos with your attendees.
According to TechMoran, published on June 29, 2021, you can share a video in a Zoom meeting by using Screen Share, sending a video file, or providing a YouTube video link.
Share Video Using Screen Share ¶
On PC, you can share a video by joining a meeting, going to the bottom of the screen, and selecting Share Screen. Then, choose Advanced to share or stream video from your PC. Tap Share after selecting Video and checking the Sound box in the bottom corner. Install the plugin if prompted to, and select the video file from your computer to begin sharing it in the meeting.
Onboard controls can be used to play, pause, and seek to a specific place. At any point, you can silence the video completely. Hovering your mouse over the top of the screen will reveal more meeting controls.
Share a Video from YouTube ¶
On PC, you can share a YouTube video by checking to see if you're in the Basic tab, selecting the browser tab that contains your YouTube video from the drop-down menu, and making sure the Basic tab is selected. Then, choose the tab in which your YouTube video is playing, and make sure the Share sound box in the bottom left is checked. Now you can share the YouTube video with others in the Zoom meeting by playing it.
Send a Video File ¶
On PC, you can send a video file by going to the bottom of the page and clicking Chat, selecting who you want to send the video to from the three-dot menu, and selecting Your Computer from the File menu in the bottom right corner. You may also share videos from Dropbox, Google Drive, and other cloud storage services. Finally, select the video from your drive and tap Open. Zoom will deliver the video file to the meeting's targeted participants through chat.
Provide a YouTube Video Link ¶
On PC, you can provide a YouTube video link by copying the link from the YouTube video, opening the Zoom video call that is currently in progress, and tapping the Chat button. Then, copy the video URL and send it to the other participants. On phone, you can copy the YouTube video link you want to share, go to the bottom right and click the More button, choose Chat from the list of choices, and copy the video URL and distribute it to the rest of the attendees.
