On June 29, 2021, a Nairobi court granted Faith Bwibo, a university student accused of luring several girls to a house to have sex with her male friends, Sh300,000 cash bail.
According to the court ruling, Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Boke accepted the bail application, stating that it was merited.
Boke noted that Bwibo had provided evidence to show that she would comply with the conditions of the court, and had spent over two months at the Langata Women Prison remand pending the bail application.
However, Boke declined to grant bail to Bwibo's co-accused, Abdirizak Adan Abdullahi, until key prosecution witnesses testify.
It is alleged that Bwibo invited young girls for fun-filled parties in South C in March, only for them to be coerced into satisfying her male friend's sexual needs.
