Kenya's Covid-19 Cases Rise to 183,603 Amid 9 New Deaths

On June 29th, 2021, the Ministry of Health confirmed 719 new Covid-19 cases in Kenya, bringing the national tally of infections to 183,603.

The new cases were detected from 7,608 samples tested, increasing the country's cumulative tests to 1,953,344. The country's positivity rate stands at 9.5 per cent.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that 666 of the new cases were Kenyans, while 53 were foreigners. The cases comprised 435 males and 284 females, with the youngest patient being a one-year-old child and the oldest a 93-year-old.

The national death toll rose to 3,621 after nine more patients succumbed to the virus.

Meanwhile, 800 patients have recovered from the disease, with 695 recovering through the Home-Based and Isolation Care program and 105 from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries now stands at 125,388.
