On June 3, 2021, Huawei launched its variant of Angry Birds 2 in cooperation with Rovio, making it available in the in-house AppGallery for devices running HarmonyOS.
This move is seen as an attempt by Huawei to convince users to switch from Android to HarmonyOS, a real Android competitor made possible by HarmonyOS.
As part of the promotion, users who opt for the free Angry Birds 2 for HarmonyOS will receive a few goodies or discounts, including a 50 percent cashback on the first in-app purchase and a discount of at least 20 percent on further purchases.
Angry Birds 2 is not the only accessory available for the game; users can also find themes and watch faces in the AppGallery or Huawei Video, including a film for the game available through the paid platform Huawei Video.
Owners of a Huawei Watch 3 or Watch Fit can look forward to watching faces in the style of Angry Birds 2, while Huawei has also announced themes for its smartwatches.
