Kenya Imposes Mandatory COVID-19 Certificate for Arrivals

June 29, 2021, Nairobi, Kenya - In a bid to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, Kenya has introduced a mandatory requirement for all arrivals to produce a negative COVID-19 certificate.

According to President Uhuru Kenyatta, all persons coming into the country must be in possession of a negative COVID-19 PCR Certificate, acquired no more than 96 hours prior to arrival into the Country.

The president made the announcement during a televised address to the nation from State House, Nairobi, where he also extended the night curfew for a further 60 days.

The curfew, which starts at 10pm, will continue until July 29, 2021. However, counties in Western Kenya will continue to observe a curfew from 7pm to 4am until July 31, 2021.
