Remittances have continued to provide a stable source of foreign exchange for Kenya and other African economies, with Kenyans living abroad sending $3.09 billion back home in 2020, a 10.7 per cent increase from $2.79 billion the previous year.

As the Director of Receive Markets at WorldRemit, Sharon highlights the company's digital-first approach, which has enabled it to process over 50 million customer payments worth approximately $10 billion in 2020, with a presence in more than 130 countries.
