Megan Thee Stallion Dominates BET Awards 2021 ¶
On Sunday, June 27, 2021, the 2021 BET Awards took place, honoring the best in music, film, and sports. Female rapper Megan Thee Stallion was a standout winner, taking home four awards, including Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Video of the Year, and Best Collaboration for "WAP," her duet with Cardi B. She also won a Viewer's Choice Award for "Savage (Remix)," her 2020 track with Beyoncé.
Other winners included Lil Baby, H.E.R., Chadwick Boseman, and LeBron James. DMX and Queen Latifah received special tributes. The actress and rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, accepted the award with her father, Lancelot Owens, Sr., while holding a photo of her late mother, Rita Owens.
Nigerian singer Burna Boy won the BET Award for the third time, crowned the Best International Act. He first won the Award in 2019, 2020, and now 2021.
