TSC Announces 10,000 Job Vacancies for Teachers

On June 29, 2021, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) announced a major recruitment drive, aiming to fill 10,000 job vacancies in the education sector.

The commission is seeking to employ 4,000 new secondary school teachers on a permanent and pensionable term, while 2,897 more will be hired to replace retired teachers in high schools.

Additionally, TSC announced 1,000 vacancies in primary schools and plans to promote 1,000 teachers from primary to secondary schools. Furthermore, 927 new teachers will be hired to replace those who retired or quit their jobs in primary schools.

To be eligible for these vacancies, applicants must meet specific requirements, including being Kenyan citizens and registered under TSC for primary school positions, and holding a Diploma or Degree in Education with two teaching subjects for secondary school positions.

Successful candidates will be appointed at T-Scale 7, and Grade C2. Applications must be submitted online through www.tsc.go.ke under 'careers' or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke before July 12, 2021.
