On Monday, detectives from Lang'ata Police Station made a daring arrest of two male suspects who were on a mission to target fitness enthusiasts jogging along Langata and Mbagathi roads.

According to a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects, identified as Peter Omweno Momanyi, 24, and John Muchiri Kimani, 25, were dressed in a manner that raised the officers' suspicions.

One of the suspects, Omweno, had dressed as a woman, which prompted the officers to order them to stop for interrogation. However, the suspects declined to heed the order and took to their heels, but the officers were quick to react and arrested them.

As reported by the DCI, one of the officers who arrested them had noticed something amiss with the appearance of the suspect and ordered them to stop, but they defied the orders and fled. The officers, however, were able to chase them down and recover crude weapons suspected to be tools of crime.

The two suspects are currently being held in custody pending arraignment.
