On a weekend in Kapsabet, Emmanuel Bor and Nancy Jelagat showcased their expertise to outpace stiff competition and emerge victorious in the Rediscover Nandi 10km road race.
Emmanuel Bor, a 23-year-old athlete, led the pack of 402 male runners, crossing the finish line in 28:21:19. His impressive time earned him a prize of Sh80,000.
Daniel Kiprotich finished second in 28:30:19, while Victor Kipchirchir, the Eldoret City Marathon champion, took third place with a time of 28:42:42.
According to Bor, 'I knew I was competing against runners who have won local races. We were close to each other for most of the time, but I broke away when I realised we were close to the finish line.'
Geoffrey Kimutai, Philip Tarus, Philemond Kiplimo, Josephat Kiprotich, Ronsus Kiplimo, Kibet Kelvin, and Amos Kiplagat completed the top ten finishers.
Nancy Jelagat recorded a personal best of 31:30:42, leaving the rest of the field in her wake.
