On June 28, 2021, a remarkable moment unfolded at the 'Nandy Festival' in Dodoma, Tanzania, when President Samia Suluhu Hassan placed a call to singer Nandy in the middle of her performance.
Nandy, known for her hit song 'njiwa,' was taken aback by the unexpected phone call, but she graciously accepted it and let her fans know that she was speaking to the head of state.
President Suluhu then addressed the fans through the loudspeaker, wishing them a safe and enjoyable event.
"Ndio, Ndio Nandy waambie wananchi nimewakimbia kidogo nina majukumu ya kikazi Daressalam, napenda sana ningekuwepo apo siku ya leo, nawaomba mfanye onyesho nzuri na salama, watu wote wafurahie mmalize salamam," President Suluhu said through the phone conversation.
Nandy expressed her gratitude to the President for her time and wished her well.
