Published on June 28, 2021, a disturbing incident occurred in Mwea West Sub-county, Kirinyaga, where a 19-year-old girl, Jacklyn Wawira, was allegedly stabbed by her 25-year-old boyfriend, Eric Gitonga.
According to the police commander, Stephen Oka, the incident occurred after a petty argument between the couple, with Gitonga accusing Wawira of cheating on him.
Wawira, a Form 2 dropout, was allegedly stabbed while in the compound of her parents' home, with Gitonga reportedly grabbing a dagger and stabbing her.
Police are currently investigating the incident and are yet to recover the murder weapon.
Meanwhile, in the same sub-county, a 13-year-old boy is facing charges of murdering his 28-year-old mother.
