Galaxy S22 Ultra: What to Expect

As we approach the launch of the Galaxy S22 series, rumors are emerging about the features and design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. According to reports, the phone will have a 6.81-inch display, making it the largest model in the series.

The display is expected to be LTPO and adaptive, which should improve battery life. It will also be more rounded than the smaller siblings.

One of the most exciting features of the Galaxy S22 Ultra is its camera system. Samsung is reportedly relying on the back of glass for the camera module, which will feature a primary camera with a 200MP sensor, courtesy of a partnership with Olympus.

The camera will also feature Sensor-Shift technology, which allows for wobble-free images during recording. Additionally, the phone is expected to have an ultra-wide angle lens, two telephoto lenses, and laser autofocus.

Another highlight of the Galaxy S22 Ultra is its gaming capabilities. The phone is said to be Samsung's first real gaming smartphone, featuring an active cooling system and a partnership with AMD for the graphics processor.

The graphics processor will enable raytracing, a feature that is more commonly associated with gaming PCs and the PlayStation 5. It will also feature Variable Rate Shading (VRS) to protect the GPU.

The phone is expected to have 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal memory.

As for the battery, there are no good rumors yet. The current model has a 5000mAh battery, and it's likely that Samsung will stick with that.

However, there is a need for optimization in the charging options. The phone currently charges at 25 watts wired and 15 watts wirelessly, but Samsung is expected to increase the classic charging to 65 watts.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra will run on Android 12 with One UI 4.0, and it will be compatible with the S Pen, although it will remain an optional accessory.

As for the price and release, we can expect the Galaxy S22 Ultra to launch in January 2022, with a starting price of around 1250 euros (approximately 160,920 Kenyan shillings).
