Published on July 1, 2019, Harambee Stars head coach Sebastian Migne is determined to get everything right as they face Senegal in their last Group C match at the Total Africa Cup of Nations 2019.
At yesterday's pre-match press conference, Migne's responses were calculated and well-thought out, giving no indication of the pressure he has been under.
“Not only is Senegal a physical team, but they have many top players. Sadio Mane is a big player, but we are determined to get at least a point against them. We will rely on team spirit to accomplish that,” said Migne.
For Harambee Stars to achieve their goal of qualifying for the knockout stages for the first time, they must tame the marauding Liverpool dynamo Sadio Mane.
However, midfielder Johanna Omollo believes they can learn from their strong performance against Tanzania and build on it.
“Of course there's pressure playing them (Senegal) but we are happy with how we are progressing. We began badly, but returned with a well-deserved victory. We seek to build on that,” said Omollo.
But for Harambee Stars, the fear is that their new-found brilliance towards marching to the last 16 comes to nothing.
It will be a final, where the winner will take it all, and only time will tell who will blink first.
