Sebastien Ogier, a seven-time world champion, made history by winning the WRC Safari Rally Kenya 2021 in Naivasha on June 27, 2021. The French speed wizard clocked 3:18:11.3 to take the top spot, leaving his teammate Takamoto Katsuta in second place with a time of 3:18.33.1.

Hyundai's Ott Tanak of Estonia secured the third position with a time of 3:19:20.8. Ogier's victory marked his fourth win in the 2021 WRC series, following his triumphs in Monte Carlo (France), Croatia, and Sardegna (Italy) legs.

Speaking to Standard Sports, Ogier expressed his happiness at adding the Safari title to his list of wins. He praised the challenging conditions and the beautiful nature of the rally.

Despite trailing his Hyundai opponents in most parts of the rally, Ogier refused to give up. He admitted that he thought his victory was over, but he continued to push his limits, eventually taking the lead.

The WRC Safari Rally Kenya 2021 lived up to its reputation as one of the world's iconic motorsport events. The rally featured rocky and sandy gravel tracks around Lakes Naivasha and Elmenteita in the Great Rift Valley, providing a brutal test for the drivers.

Stunning scenery, exotic wildlife, and enthusiastic locals portrayed Africa at its best. Ogier's victory also widened Toyota's standing in the manufacturer standings, setting the stage for the next leg of the WRC series in Estonia.
