On June 28, 2021, comedian Eric Omondi responded to criticism from Kenya Film Classification Board boss Ezekiel Mutua, who had taken issue with certain entertainment content.

Eric Omondi expressed his frustration on social media, questioning what he had done to warrant Ezekiel Mutua's constant criticism. He pointed out that the KFCB chief had never had anything positive to say about him or his content, yet he defended politicians embroiled in scandalous stories.

Eric Omondi emphasized that as a comedian, his role is to reflect society and highlight its flaws, rather than simply providing entertainment. He urged Ezekiel Mutua to 'wake up' and acknowledge the issues plaguing Kenyan society.

Eric Omondi's comments came in response to a video posted by Ezekiel Mutua, in which he condemned content creators promoting 'immoral' content related to the Safari Rally, held in Naivasha over the weekend.
