Charles Tanui, the former Nandi County council chairman, has sadly passed away in a Nairobi hospital on June 27, 2021.
According to his family, Councillor Tanui succumbed to complications from diabetes and pressure while undergoing treatment.
Throughout his career, Tanui was instrumental in promoting peace and cohesion at the borders of Nandi and Kisumu counties, serving as chair of the Peace Initiative committee.
Originally from Chemase ward in Tinderet Sub County, Tanui served as a councillor for over 20 years.
