On a fateful day in December 2020, Mercy Atis shared her heartbreaking story on Jalang'o's YouTube show, Bonga Na Jalas. Her appearance on the show marked a turning point in her life, and it's a stark contrast to the story of Peter Kamau Kinuthia, alias Omosh, who appeared on the same show just a few months later.

On February 16, 2021, Omosh, a former Citizen TV actor, appeared on Jalang'o's show, dejected and in need of help. While Omosh received significant donations from Jalang'o's fans, he reportedly used the money to pay off debts and is now back to begging.

Fast forward to the present, and Mercy Atis' story is one of hope and resilience. After receiving donations from Jalang'o's fans, she invested the money wisely and has since turned her life around. She now owns a multi-purpose restaurant, which sells fish and drinks, and is planning to introduce new delicacies and services like entertainment.

Atis is also packaging bottled water under her own brand, a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit. When Jalang'o visited her recently, she was overwhelmed with gratitude, saying, 'I'm very grateful to you (Jalang'o) and your fans. The money you gave me has changed my life completely.'
