On June 27, 2021, Nick Odhiambo, a popular Radio Maisha presenter, took to his Twitter page to share the joyous news of becoming a father. However, his post was tinged with sadness as he revealed that his unborn baby, J'lani, had not survived.

"Best gift ever....nice to meet you son.! My mini me.....I am Soo overjoyed…", wrote Nick, expressing his happiness at the birth of his son.

However, in a subsequent post, Nick shared the devastating news of J'lani's passing, saying, "The countdown to your birthday cut short.... Sometimes life just throws you a curve ball!!!..but it is what it is..lil' J'lani R.I.P.. My son didn't make it to see this beautiful world..."

Before announcing his departure from Radio Maisha, Nick had been hosting his last show. He had joined the station in May 2017, after parting ways with Classic 105, where he had worked for 10 years.

As he bid farewell to Radio Maisha, Nick expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work on a Swahili station for four years. He also announced that he would be transitioning back to an English radio station in the coming days.

"Today's my final RHUMBA show on air after 4years at @radiomaisha!did I ever think i'd switch to swahili radio? NOPE but the opportunity came and i took it. transitioning back to English radio in a few days tupige sherehe leo buuuuuurrrdan is burrrdaaan #PapaNickYeboooo!", he announced.

As Nick Odhiambo embarks on this new chapter in his life, he will be replaced by the legendary Titi Nagwalla, who will be hosting a rebranded Rhumba show called #RhumbaRepublik on Radio Maisha.
