On June 26, 2021, a disturbing incident unfolded in Zimmerman, where two men were attacked by residents and subsequently arrested for an alleged kidnapping incident.

However, according to Kasarani OCPD Peter Mwanzo, the two men were not criminals, but rather innocent individuals who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

As Mwanzo explained, the two men had gone to visit a relative in Zimmerman and had taken the relative's child to a nearby shop. However, when the child began crying, the residents mistakenly believed that the two men were child kidnappers and reacted accordingly, damaging their car in the process.

The incident comes amidst a wave of missing persons cases in the country, including the recent case of businesswoman Hafsa Mohammed Lukman, who was rescued by police after being kidnapped from her Eastleigh shop.
