On Saturday, June 26, 2021, a distressing scene unfolded in Zimmerman when residents, fueled by misinformation, attacked a vehicle carrying two men and a minor.

According to Kasarani OCPD Peter Mwanzo, the two men were not kidnappers, but rather relatives visiting a family member.

"The two went to visit a relative at Zimmerman. After arriving, they took their relative's child to the shop, but at some point, the kid started crying prompting residents to react," Mwanzo explained.

Residents, mistakenly believing the men were child kidnappers, took matters into their own hands, burning down the car parked near their relative's rented house.

The incident comes on the heels of a recent kidnapping case in Eastleigh, where businesswoman Hafsa Mohammed Lukman was rescued by police after being held captive for an unknown period.

Her kidnappers, in a shocking display of cruelty, recorded a video of her being tortured, which was later shared on social media.
