With MIUI 12 (and MIUI 12.5), Xiaomi has created an impressive user interface. The next version, MIUI 13, is already in sight, with an expected release in the fall.
According to a leading Xiaomi employee, the update will be rolled out in August at the latest. However, this may not be the case for Africa, including Kenya, by the time the update reaches the region.
MIUI 13 is expected to be based on Android 11, but it may not be directly bundled with the new Android version. Instead, it may be released in combination with Android, similar to previous updates.
One possible scenario is that MIUI 13 will be launched together with the presentation of the Mi Mix 4, a flagship smartphone that is said to be on par with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.
Apple's traditional practice of releasing major iOS updates immediately after the launch of new iPhones may have inspired Xiaomi's decision to combine the MIUI 13 update with the launch of the Mi Mix 4.
