Mathare United's relegation woes deepened after a 2-1 defeat to Posta Rangers at the Ruaraka Complex on June 26, 2021.
Despite a second-half freekick from Norman Ogolla, goals from Jackson Dwang and an Austine Ochieng own goal compounded Mathare's woes.
Mathare had come into the fixture off a good performance in midweek where they beat AFC Leopards for their second win of the season, but they could not complete consecutive victories with a loss against the mailmen.
Posta Rangers took the lead in the 16th minute when Dwang broke the deadlock with an easy tap-in after keeper Job Ochieng had punched Francis Nambute's cross right into his path.
However, Posta Rangers' chances of extending their lead were squandered when Dwang's resultant penalty was wild and wide in the 16th minute.
Posta Rangers doubled their lead in the 38th minute when Austine Ochieng scored into his own net after Ochieng's save off a Dwang tap bounced into his path.
Mathare United's confidence was punctured early on in the game, and they struggled to find their footing throughout the match.
Despite making attacking changes in the second half, Mathare United could not find the means to get the ball into the net, and their relegation woes deepened.
