Motorola Defy: A Rugged Smartphone for the Great Outdoors ¶
Developed in collaboration with the Bullitt Group, the new Motorola Defy is designed to withstand the toughest outdoor conditions. Like its predecessor, launched in October 2010, this smartphone is well-protected from water and dust. However, the new edition boasts several significant upgrades.
The Motorola Defy features a double-sealed case, making it waterproof according to the IP68 standard. The manufacturer claims that the phone can survive for up to 35 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters. Additionally, it can withstand falls from up to 1.8 meters and extreme temperatures.
The phone's battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh, allowing for a continuous runtime of two days. The triple camera on the back can capture images with up to 48 MP resolution. The HD+ display measures 6.5 inches diagonally, and the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 662 processor, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM.
Motorola plans to make the new Defy edition available in Kenya for KES 42,332, although an exact release date has not been announced. The phone is expected to be sold in the coming weeks.
