On a fateful Tuesday, June 22, 2021, Daniel Gucoma's life came to a tragic end in a shooting incident at Gwa Kairu, Ruiru, along Thika Road.
According to detectives, Gucoma was a dangerous criminal with a long history of crime, often working with his wife, Susan Wangari, and other accomplices.
Gucoma's wife, Susan Wangari, had previously narrated a harrowing tale of how a matatu ride saved her life, hinting at the couple's involvement in various crimes.
Gucoma had been charged with robbery with violence in 2015, alongside his mother, Mary Wanjiku Nditure, and his wife, Susan Wangare Njoroge.
Wangari's own history of crime was marked by a 2014 carjacking incident, where she allegedly stole a motorist's vehicle at gunpoint in Nairobi. In 2017, she posed as a policewoman, faking credentials to intimidate others.
Gucoma and Wangari were also accused of robbery with violence in 2017, with Wangari being released on a Sh. 500,000 bond after pleading not guilty.
Gucoma's extensive crime record also included a failed bank robbery in Eldoret in 2017, where he and his accomplices disarmed police officers but escaped without committing any robbery.
Another case saw Gucoma and Stephen Kamau Mungai accused of robbing a businessman of his lorry and 300 gas cylinders in 2014.
Gucoma's family members were also embroiled in crime, with one female relative being charged with robbery with violence in 2019 for carjacking a motorist at gunpoint along Riara Road in Nairobi.
