Driver, Tej Rai, Airlifted to Nairobi After Crashing on Day 1 of WRC Safari Rally

On the first day of the WRC Safari Rally, June 25, 2021, driver Tej Rai, popularly known as Tej, was involved in a high-speed crash at the Kedong SS3 stage.

According to organizers, Tej and his navigator, Zimbabwean Gareth Dawe, were airlifted to Nairobi for a check-up, despite both being in good health.

Tej, who started at position 15 of the day's line-up at 7:52 am, was not the only driver to experience difficulties at the Kedong bend.

Other drivers, including Sohanjeet Puee and Dani Sordo, also encountered issues at the challenging bend, with Puee's car being the first to crash and Sordo's car experiencing a fender-bender.
