On his 41st birthday, Tobias Ngala embarked on a remarkable journey from Nakuru to Mombasa, covering a distance of 645 kilometers to raise funds for children with cancer.

Ngala's initiative was sparked by the plight of a single mother living above his apartment, whose son was suffering from severe pain and crying at night.

"I was moved by the young boy's situation and decided to dedicate my birthday to raising funds for children with cancer, so that they would not suffer like my neighbor's son did," Ngala said.

As of Friday last week, Ngala had managed to raise Sh. 91,600, with the support of small businesses and well-wishers, including friends and relatives.

Ngala hopes to surpass the Sh. 200,000 mark by Friday and reach his target of Ksh. 645,000 after completing the race.
