On June 25, 2021, Tinder introduced a game-changing feature that's set to revolutionize online dating. The app has launched a game called Hot Takes, which connects potential spouses in a speed dating-style game available every day from 6 PM to midnight local time.
Users are first presented with multiple-choice questions, such as 'Which of these is most pretentious? Bragging you don't have TikTok, natural wine, saying you found something first, or Oxford comma enthusiasts.'
After answering these questions, users are dropped into a chat with another user who has given similar answers. The potential spouses can then talk before deciding whether to give each other a 'Like' or a 'Nope.' However, users only have 30 seconds to make their choice.
For those who prefer a more leisurely pace of courtship, Tinder has also introduced a new section called Explore. This feature provides different ways of meeting people, including the ability to search for matches with similar interests.
The Explore tab, which launches later this summer, also includes other Tinder features, such as Festival Mode, designed to connect people attending the same festival.
Additionally, Tinder has introduced videos in profiles, allowing users to add up to nine clips to showcase their personality. This feature is particularly suitable for Gen Z, which makes up more than 50% of the app's global members.
