On June 25, 2021, Tejveer Rai, a talented young driver, suffered a setback in his rally racing career when he crashed out of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally.
According to reports, Tejveer's VW GTI Polo nose-dived during the second day of the rally, causing the car to roll several times at Kedong.
Fortunately, Tejveer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Nairobi for medical attention. His navigator, Gareth Dawe, also sustained minor injuries.
Tejveer, who drives for the Kabras Racing Team, is the younger brother of Menengai Oils Team driver Onkar Rai.
Before his crash, Tejveer had finished second in the ARC Equator Rally, a precursor to the Safari Rally Kenya's return to the WRC calendar.
