Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Re-launches with Veteran News Anchors ¶
Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) has unveiled a list of seasoned media personalities who have joined the state broadcaster ahead of their much-anticipated re-launch. The list includes Tom Mboya, Cynthia Nyamai, Shiksha Arora, John Kioria, Fred Indimuli, Ahmed Juma Bhalo, Harith Salim, and Nancy Onyancha.
According to KBC Editor-in-Chief Samuel Maina, the new changes at the station have been informed by market dynamics and changing audience needs. Maina stated that the 'Legends' show, which will air every Saturday at 7pm and 9pm, will feature experienced anchors who will also train upcoming anchors to sharpen their anchoring skills.
On Monday, the re-launch will kick off with 'Darubini' at 7pm, featuring renowned Swahili anchor Harith Salim and former K24 anchor Nancy Onyancha. The 9PM news bulletin (Prime Edition) will be anchored by Tom Mboya and Purity Museo, who will host ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi with a focus on politics, his family life, his driving force, and philosophy.
Other notable additions to the KBC team include Catherine Kasavuli, who has been handed the Legend Edition, a show that will air every Saturday. The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation has also refurbished their KBC Channel 1 TV, Radio Taifa, and the English Service studios with a complete new look.
Additionally, KBC has invested in a state-of-the-art studio facility as part of its infrastructure upgrade strategy. The broadcaster has also sourced new equipment from its partner Multichoice in South Africa to boost on-screen appearance and enhance its television production capacity.
