Deputy President William Ruto has expressed his disappointment with the state of the Jubilee party, stating it is badly damaged and has been destroyed by individuals who do not appreciate the importance of organizing politics and parties on a national level.

Speaking on KTN News on June 24, 2021, Ruto emphasized the need for leaders to be judged based on their party philosophy and position on issues, rather than their regional or community background.

He also criticized the idea of merging the Jubilee party with the ODM party, stating that it would be 'tragic' to do so without consulting the party's members, who number over 200 MPs, senators, governors, and MCAs.

Ruto's comments come as he navigates building a new political party, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), which he hopes will be a national party that brings Kenyans together.

He described the current state of the Jubilee party as a 'haemorrhage' and stated that part of the problem is the lack of constructive engagement and trust among party members.

Ruto also expressed his vision for an ideal Kenya, where there are two main national parties, Jubilee and NASA, and where small tribal parties are not necessary.
