On June 21, 2021, a tragic incident shook Donholm, Nairobi, when Emma Achieng, the wife of musician John Ochieng, was shot and seriously wounded by thugs on a motorcycle in the Greenspan area.
According to police, the victim was headed home after closing her shop when the gang struck, shooting her in the chest and grabbing a bag before speeding off.
Tragically, Emma succumbed to her gunshot wounds the following day, leaving her husband and family in shock.
John Ochieng, who was in Kisumu at the time of the incident, expressed his concerns about the motive behind the attack, wondering if it was a normal robbery or a targeted attack due to his music career.
Police have launched a manhunt for the gangsters and suspect that there may be a gang monitoring the victims' movements before striking.
