Published on June 24, 2021, a royal author appeared on Good Morning Britain, claiming that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will 'never cut themselves off' from the royal family.
Robert Lacey, the author, discussed his new book on the ITV breakfast show, explaining why Harry and Meghan still wish to be associated with the Monarchy.
Although the couple stepped away as senior representatives last year to lead a quiet life outside of the public eye, Lacey believes they will never cease to be royal.
'The point is they will never cease to be royal,' Robert explained to GMB hosts Susanna Reid and Adil Ray.
He added that the couple's interest in the royal family is a reason for hope in the future, and that they are unlikely to cut ties due to their lucrative Netflix contract.
Robert also suggested that the unveiling of the Diana statue could help Harry and William reconcile, as the brothers unite to remember their late mother.
He claimed that the family divide was caused by a bitter row between William and Harry, which led to the family's current situation.
Robert defended the public's ongoing interest in the royal family and their personal lives, stating that the monarchy's job is to be a representative family, and that it is legitimate to talk about them.
